In Barcelona
The conferences and workshops in Barcelona will take place at the Casa Asia Barcelona headquarters,. a Modernist building designed by architect Puig i Cadafalch in the 19th century. The building is classified as an Artistic and Historical Monument of National Interest. It is a unique building, with facilities well suited for accommodating Casa Asia's wide range of initiatives. Casa Asia has become a reference point and a center for cultural information on Asia and the Pacific and has provided the city with a meeting point between the Spanish society and the Asian world. In Madrid
The main venue for the Madrid part of the programme will CaixaForum Madrid a center for cultural activities opened in 2007 in the centre of the Spanish capital, close to the famous Prado Museum. The CaixaForum Madrid building was designed by Herzog & de Meuron. It was built on the premises of an unused industrial building and it neighbours an art installation of green plants grown on the wall of a neighbouring house.
