Bringing closer the peoples of Asia and Europe is the main goal of the Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF), founded in 1997. As the only physical institution of the ASEM Process, it is entrusted with the mission to promote greater mutual understanding between the peoples of Asia and Europe through intellectual, cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Based on those principles, the ASEFUAN Dialogues are born to give young leaders and experts from Asia and Europe a chance to have their views heard on topics highly relevant to their future.
By creating a space for free dialogue, the ASEFUAN Dialogues are a rare opportunity for these young leaders and experts to, not only exchange ideas on topics such as global governance, globalisation, international security or climate change, but also to engage in discussions with senior figures and politicial leaders.
The ASEFUAN Dialogues are open to students, active members of the civil society as well as successful professionals with a high degree of expertise in their field.
The ASEFUAN Dialogues is one of the flagship programmes of the ASEF University Alumni Network.

The topic of this year’s Dialogue was “Trade Between Asia and Europe: Conflict and Convergence.” This year’s Dialogue invited high-profile scholars and practitioners of the international trade law based in the Brussels area and provided updates of the trade issues between Asia and Europe.
